Air Max Day Sample Ad
about
This Air Max Day sample ad project reimagines sneaker culture through film photography and real-world styling. Shot on location in front of a weathered auto repair garage, the series pairs Nike Air Max with thrifted fashion to show how the shoe transcends performance and lives as a cultural statement. Inspired by the origin story of Marion Franklin Rudy and his air-bag innovation, the project highlights the impact Air Max has had on design, identity, and street style.
production notes
Photographed on 35mm and 120mm film using a Pentax 67 and Canon 1N, the series uses Portra 400 alongside Psych Blues PB5, an experimental film known for its vertical rainbow burns. I chose this stock to push the visuals into a more expressive space, blending fashion-focused street photography with unexpected color shifts and light leaks. The look adds an energetic edge to the project and imagines how a modern Air Max campaign could feel with a more artistic, editorial approach.
