DESCRIPTION

I SMOKED ON TRUTH AND FOUND IT IN MYSELF is a mixed media collage project that explores cannabis, introspection, and layered consciousness through analog and digital techniques. Using a broad mix of found materials—vintage magazines, comics, pharmaceutical ads, international newspapers, textbook clippings, and original photography—the work mimics the non-linear flow of thought that often occurs while high.

Inspired by the emotional clarity and mental chaos that can come with smoking, the collage weaves together fragmented visuals and lyrical references. The inclusion of comic panels, pharmaceutical advertisements, and poetic text asks the viewer to reflect on how we often look to cannabis for answers, only to find those answers already within. A lyric from Lucki and scorched medical ads emphasize themes of love, self-image, and the search for meaning in a loud and complicated world.

This project is less about cannabis as a substance and more about what it unlocks—a heightened awareness of memory, identity, and the delicate dance between comfort and truth.
